Welcome to Acorn & Oak Personal Organizing!
Hello! My name is Kathleen Miller.
Welcome to the start of your organizing journey! Finding someone to help you get organized can feel overwhelming, especially when you're already feeling stressed or stuck. Whether you've been considering it for a while or just decided on a whim, I'm glad you're here.
I moved to St. Louis from Knoxville and Nashville, Tennessee. My husband, Mark, and I have a big blended family with six kids ranging from high schoolers to those who've flown the nest. When we moved into our lovely historic city home—with only 1.5 bathrooms for seven people—my knack for organization was truly put to the test!
How did I get here?
Before founding Acorn & Oak, I was an attorney, a flight attendant, and a teacher. Three very different jobs, but each one formative in its own way. Practicing law taught me discretion and attention to detail. The time I spent as a flight attendant taught me to read a room quickly and stay composed under pressure. Teaching taught me that you have to meet people where they are, not where you wish they were. None of it was a straight line. All of it shows up in this work.
In recent years, I've been using these skills to help friends and family through major life changes, making their transitions smoother and more supportive. There's something incredibly rewarding about transforming a space from chaos to calm, turning it into a sanctuary rather than a source of stress.
Realizing my passion for assisting others through these transitions, I founded Acorn & Oak Personal Organizing. It's been an exciting journey, and I'm thrilled to continue helping people reclaim their space and peace of mind.
What is the story behind “Acorn & Oak”?
At Acorn & Oak, we believe in the power of small steps. Just like a tiny acorn can grow into a mighty oak tree, small habits can blossom into robust systems.
We take the idea of baby steps seriously. Even something as simple as looking into personal organizing is a step toward bringing calm to your chaos. It's about building systems that make your space comfortable and functional for you, rather than feeling like it's working against you.
